Spinal Stenosis Treatment
Spinal Stenosis Implant
Spinal Stenosis Implants are the newest alternative to surgical decompression in order to correct lumber spinal stenosis. The type of implant that can be of use in treating LSS is an interspinous device that attaches to the spine and provides the same decompression accomplished in a laminectomy. There are currently several implants in development that could potentially treat the symptoms of lumbar spinal stenosis. Some devices have been studied less thoroughly then others which will be reflected in the information provided on this website. Most of the implants were not developed specifically for spinal stenosis treatment. This will be reflected in the amount of conditions the device is specified for treating. Also, many of the devices are not currently approved for treatment in the United States. Some are farther in the approval process than others.
