Spinal Stenosis Foraminotomy

The spinal stenosis treatment known as a foraminotomy is a surgical procedure in which the foramen, an opening from the cervical spinal canal, is enlarged in order to alleviate pinching of a spinal root nerve. This enlargement is accomplished by removing some of the bone around the foramen. A foraminotomy is performed alongside a laminectomy.
